The EPA and the CA state health orgs are trying to decide if perchlorate in milk should be considered a separate dose from perchlorate in the water and in the produce (like winter lettuce, grown in Imperial Valley). There's been a continuing struggle to establish a safe minimum dose level - the milk discovery will complicate and delay the decision. Activists in Sacto. will do their best to make sure the legislature sets the level as low as possible, and sets different mdl's for children and adults.
